Workshops
In a workshop, a minimum of four people with a B2 English speaking level would need to participate. The length of the class could be tailored to suit their time constraints. Generally, between an hour and an hour and a half allows enough time to work on and develop some improvisational skills.
Benefits of the workshops would include:
Working on a new English skill
As well as helping employees to become more comfortable with each other improv also teaches them new sets of skills. The games played can be specifically designed to focus on different topics of interest or themes that will be of interest to employees.
Doing something totally new and exciting
Real-time exchanges occur which closer mirror reality than conventional classrooms. Employees can get out of the confined space of their chairs and discover talents that they never knew they had.
Taking part
Everyone is part of the learning process. Each employee is an integral part of the activity whether they contribute a lot or contribute a little. Shy employees will find their voice as they take a step away into a made up world with no restrictions and mistakes.
Team building exercises
Employees will get to know each other and what each member of their team is capable of which will help to build a stronger sense of togetherness and camaraderie in your business.
Laughter
The games are designed to bring about laughter. Peoples’ instantaneous decision making and quick replies will bring out unexpected exchanges that will leave your employees laughing out loud. Laughter invariably brings people together which would be a major plus for your company.
Events
During a corporate event, I could address up to sixty people at one time. The length of the event could be tailored to your company’s needs. Usually, the event takes between an hour and two hours.
Using a perfected slide-show, I will explain the basics of some improvisation comedy games and and show some further explanatory clips if required. Then, I will get some volunteers from the company to come to the front and play each game in front of their colleagues. The games generally last between two and five minutes.
At the end of the slide-show, employees would then be given an opportunity to reflect on the games played and have a lively discussion about which ones they preferred and why.
The benefits of the event would be the same as that of the workshop.

Life is an improvisation. You have no idea what’s going to happen next and you are mostly just making up things as you go along.
